Beat the Heat: Pools, Splash Pads and Wading Pools

Posted on Jun 27, 2012 by Cindy

Outdoor pools are a great way to enjoy the sunny weather while still keeping cool in the water. Some outdoor pools may also open for extended hours during Extreme Heat Alerts.

Scarborough District Outdoor Pools:

Heron Park 292 Manse Road 416 396-4063
Maryvale 1325 Pharmacy Avenue 416 396-4127
McGregor Park 2231 Lawrence Avenue East 416 396-7769
H.A. Halbert Park 24 Rockwood Drive 416 396-4125

Splash pads are unsupervised water play areas and are conveniently located at a dozen parks and playgrounds. They often include engaging water features such as shower heads and spray jets that keep children laughing for hours.
Parents are reminded to supervise their child(ren) at all times while visiting the splash pad.

Ward 35, Scarborough Southwest Splash Pads:

Corvette Park 40 Corvette Avenue 416 392-2556
Dunlop Park Birchmount Road & St Clair Avenue East
Greystone Park 845 Danforth Road 416 396-6340
Oates Drive Park 10 Oates Drive 416 396-4002
Warden Hilltop CC 25 Mendelssohn Street 416-392-7640

Looking for your kids to splash around for a while but don’t want to go to a pool? Wading pools are shallow water areas for children located within parks. Over 100 supervised wading pools will be in operation this summer.
