Last May I reported that the fire damaged house at 28 Madelaine Avenue had been demolished. City staff have been working throughout the summer to improve the area and make the park more enjoyable for local residents. They planted trees, fixed benches, removed dead and overgrown shrubs, elevated trees, removed stumps, re-graded the old lot, removed bricks and debris, added top soil and over seeded to develop the lawn.
There is still a little work to be done, but it is an incredible improvement already. They will be bringing a few nice rocks for the curb cut areas. They will also level the lot between the houses, remove a few more overgrown shrubs and bushes and add soil, grade and over seed to that area – creating an open and safe area for kids to run!
Thank you to Rob for giving Jay a great tour of the park and its improvements. View Gallery.
