It was a picture perfect day for the official Grand Opening of the Regents Park Playground. Happy kids came from Regents Heights Junior Public School to join in the celebration and the ribbon was barely cut as they ran to swing and slide on the new equipment.
I had heard from many families about the need for better playground equipment for several parks across our Ward, and the existing structure at Regents Park was not up to current safety standards and needed to be replaced. Initial funding fell short, but I was able to allocate additional Section 37 and Section 45 funds. I held community consultations where attendees were able to view design plans and provide valuable feedback. A special thanks to all the parents and local residents who gave their time, energy and ideas to this project!
Our green spaces play a special role in bringing people together and strengthening community ties.
