Warden and Fairfax Traffic Signals

Posted on Jun 7, 2012 by Cindy

I’m excited to announce changes are coming to the intersection of Warden and Fairfax that should ease congestion and wait times for residents, parents and students. In the coming months, staff will adjust the timing of the left-hand turn signals at this intersection. Here’s what’s going to be done thanks to feedback from you:

The signal Timing Plan and Traffic Signal Heads at the intersection of Warden Ave and Fairfax Crescent/Deans Drive will be modified to have a Northbound Left-Turn Green Arrow during the morning peak period when all the Parents of Satec/W.A. Porter students are trying to may a left-turn from Warden onto Fairfax. In addition, the timing plan will also have 15 seconds of east-west green time added during the morning and afternoon peak periods so the eastbound left-turns i.e. Fairfax left-turn to go north on Warden Ave will have additional time to clear the intersection and ease congestion. Part of the delay to eastbound left-turns is because of the students/pedestrian east-west crossing in the north crosswalk area.
